New Project Development in Central Sweden

BioShare is currently advancing the development of a new energy project in Central Sweden, centered around the acquisition and transformation of an existing industrial site into a next-generation biorefinery hub.

The project aims to repurpose existing infrastructure into a flexible production platform for renewable fuels and carbon products, including biomethane, electro-methane, and high-quality biochar for metallurgical applications. All, while maintaining capabilites to support the local comminity with disctrict heat in the form of waste heat from the process.

By integrating thermochemical gasification with electrochemical processes such as water electrolysis, the facility is designed to efficiently convert biomass and renewable electricity into valuable energy carriers and carbon products. This approach enables both sector coupling and optimized utilization of local resources—key elements in the transition to a resilient, low-carbon energy system.

Transforming an existing site into a modern biorefinery not only reduces capital requirements and development timelines, but also leverages established infrastructure, permitting frameworks, and grid connections. This significantly lowers project risk compared to greenfield developments while accelerating time to market.

The project is currently in an early development phase, with ongoing discussions with investors regarding financing of site acquisition, permitting, and further project development activities.

BioShare’s role spans the full project lifecycle—from concept development and technical design to project structuring and execution—ensuring a robust foundation for a scalable and commercially viable energy asset.

This initiative represents another step in BioShare’s strategy to develop integrated energy platforms that transform existing industrial assets into high-value, multi-product hubs for the future energy system.
