BioShare has submitted an application to the Swedish Energy Agency’s Industriklivet program to support a major feasibility study focused on producing biomethane, biochar, and e-methane from residual biomass and renewable electricity.
The study will explore how BioShare’s gasification and syngas upgrading technologies can be integrated into existing energy infrastructure—enabling combined heat and power (CHP) plants to transform into flexible biorefineries. It includes technical design, site integration, product yield assessments, and economic evaluations across three candidate locations, with the goal of identifying the most suitable site for a first-of-its-kind demonstration facility in Sweden.
Running through summer 2025, the study will lay the foundation for a future application to Industriklivet for support of the full-scale demonstration project. It also serves as a stepping stone toward an investment decision. This initiative marks a significant step in BioShare’s mission to deliver scalable, cross-sector technologies that accelerate the transition from fossil fuels to circular, carbon-smart energy systems.
